From Living Color to Beautiful WHITE!

I've forever loved the cottage look, and always
collected vintage items to decorate my
home with.

however,

I lived it with
color,
lots and lots
of color
at least in my kitschy kitchen and dining room! They
were true to my boomer beginning and very
50's  with bright and beautiful color!

But that was then...

This was taken during the time when my chandy was
being put up and part of  the ceiling had to be replaced, plastic
was draped over most of the dining room...

I had a huge fruit motif going on with chalk ware in
my dining room as well as lining my kitchen (I'll share
the kitchen another time, it still 'In Living Color'
BRIGHT yellow with lots of
fabulous 50's chalk ware...
my little English cupboard has gone through
some major changes, losing the fruit I painted
on it's doors many years ago. I looove it's
new look in dreamy sweet WHITE!

...and

this is now...

Please tell me what YOU think!?!

I must confess, I've saved all my colorful Pyrex for
summer parties to be used with all my bright
50's tablecloths.

This
girl
still
likes
it
a
little
colorful
now
and
then!

I like both. I enjoy the soothing cottage look, but tend to tire of it. I love living with color and am so glad you saved all of your treasures. But change is good (or so they tell me).

Wow, you have a great colorful collection of Pyrex. I’m glad you are keeping it. That cabinet is awesome no matter what you have in it. I like the change; I’m a white-kind-of-girl myself. I do have some red Pyrex in my kitchen, though, love those vintage refrigerator dishes.

Honestly, I love it both ways. I loved all your bright colored dishes, but the white it very nice too. I do love white and it's very sophisticated. Great job!

Hi Debbbie-

About 5 years ago after I saw the movie Something's Gotta Give, I started changing all the color in my house to make it reflect more whites. It just feels more serene. What you have done looks fabulous.

Hi Debbie,
I think neutral colors are so soothing to the eye. I like looking at color , but I find it hard to live with for a long time.

I’m so happy you will be joining me for the Where Blogger’s Create party this year!
I think it’s going to be great fun and probably bigger than last year!
Jo is offering some great prizes isn’t she??? I’ll be in touch!!
