Christmas with Mercedes & Lulu~

They both got dog hand puppets that
bark/sing to Christmas songs! They
had so much fun 'together' with them!
One of my favorites of the girls!
Lulu loved this story telling Santa!

She hung on his every word!

She enjoyed each of the stories he
read to her. It was as if they were the
only ones in the room!

Mercedes taking a moment to play her
new game!

Costco Trip for Snow Storm Supplies! (Yet another adventure of the little 'Lego Workerman'!

While we were all on alert for the
incoming Storm, Jerry & I headed to
Costco yesterday via old 99. We
should have known, the outcome of
taking 99, because it took us forever
just to get onto it...

Now most of you know we're at exit 202
and Costco is just off the next exit, it
Shouldn't take too long, right? Absolutely
WRONG!!! It took us over an hour to get
to Costco! We eventually got our groceries.
As we were checking out, I notice
our friends, Pattie & Richard back a few
(in our line), so I snuck over and put
my hands over Pattie's eyes...;)

Pattie and I go way back, and talk on the
phone every so often to catch up etc.etc.
She lives up in the sticks...hehe, so she
sometimes stops in for coffee, if she's out
and about...Some of you may remember the
Giganto garage sale I was in last summer?
Right, it was at Pattie's beautiful Lake
front home!

To cut this already wayyy to long of a
story down...The days I dropped
stuff off for the sale, there was a
huge pile of stuff she was having
Richard take to the thriftstore/dump!
Later when I took my last load, I noticed
a little lego worker man left in the dirt.
I picked him up and set him on the
table. That weekend when we had our sale,
I put him on top of something without
telling Pattie, who finally noticed
hours later and had a good laugh! Well
it became a rather fun thing to do
after awhile, especially, when we
didn't have customers and were bored!

So, September rolls around and Pattie
& Richard visit and right after she
left (Aunt Sally was visiting) I was
sitting talking to Sally and all of a
sudden out of the corner of my eye, I
SPY, LITTLE WORKER MAN!!!
There he
was sitting on a shelf in my dining
room! Laughing, I decided to think of
a way to deliver him back to his
rightful owner!!! I had decided
to put him in a small pumpkin and
add him to Pattie's beautiful
porch display...But, in the meantime
before I did that, Pattie came
to visit...Sooo while she was
visiting the privy, I stuck him
into her coat pocket! hehe...

A month went by and I hadn't heard
a thing about our little traveling
workerman, UNTIL I recieved an email
a few days ago, showing him on a
reindeer in the snow tredging his
way to my house! So you see dear
reader, that is why the little guy
was posted here earlier on "Message
to Pattie",
you can read what
transpired there, earlier last week!

UNTIL at Costco, When Pattie kept
commenting on how cool my purse was.
Dum Dum Dumb (me)! I open it, so she
could check out all the compartments,
because she's so interested),I then go
on to tell her the only thing I don't
like about it is, where the check
book is, as I open it up one last
time, and this is what I see!!!!

All I can say is Okay, Okay, he's
going home with me...She goes on
to explain after Costco, they were
heading for our house to drop him off!!!
Oh, and about our quick little drive
to Costco, to pick up supplies in
case we got snowed in
...with only
one other stop (Albertson's for a
few smalls, not to be bought at
Costco), it took 5 hours...:(
traffic was a nightmare!!!

GETTING A CALL AND MAKING ARRANGEMENTS
FOR THE SKITTLE DROP! FINALLY...
I WAS HAPPILY REUNITED WITH MY SWEET

Friday Fill-Ins #11

1. Friends are like flowers and sunshine.
We all could use some attention
(cultivating), a cup of tea/coffee (water),
Mix in some great conversation (sunshine),
and watch us 'BLOOM'!

2. Good health; it's everything!
Never, ever taken for granted...

3. I'm ready for winter break.

4. Good question, I have been thinking I need to find a
fragrance that's light and airy that I'd wear!

5. The oldest ornaments I have are vintage
(even older than me),but I made quite a few
when my son was born, cute little
stuffed cloth ornaments he could touch!
(He'll be 35).

6. Take some handmade Christmas decorations,
a little greenery, a tree(fake or real),
family keepsakes,(pics. etc.), mix it all
together and you have a 'holiday home' chock
full of memories!

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking
forward to snuggling up in front of the fireplace,
catching up on my magazine stash, tomorrow my
plans include still trying to lay low, to get
rid of the crud I have and Sunday, I want to
make my Christmas Cards...I'm so behind!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO TWO VERY SPECIAL
PEOPLE IN MY LIFE!!!

To Ms. Vicky, boy we've sure had some
wonderful times together, (oh and some
not so wonderful),...as I remember one
Friday the 13th. UGH! 1).we were almost
hit by a 'HUMONGOUS' logging truck!
2). Jimmer (her Chesapeake) going down
a few doors and out into the lake and
as a retriever does...tried to bring
us the ball he found floating in the
lake! Well, it just happened to be
the neighbor's float to their water
line! The terrible thing was that it
was made of Styrofoam and Jimmers teeth
sank so far into it, he couldn't let
go!
So I grabbed a little row
boat and was going to go unhook him,
but, as I reached for the boat, it
zigged, when I zagged, and I dislocated
my shoulder trying to hold on and
not fall in all at the same time!

Okay...now picture this dear reader,
all the while the neighbor had been
yelling at the dog to drop her float...
(For God sakes),
She's freakin' out, because we're
stealing her boat???!!!
(For God sakes),
There I am with my arm dangling
down farther than it should, I'm in
terrible pain and Vicky (dearest
birthday girl), who can't swim a lick!
is now attempting to climb into said,
row boat, (without my assistance, I might add)
We're pleading with the nice neighbor to
please let us borrow her oars, so Vicky
can get out to Jimmer. He now has been
trying to stay afloat for quite awhile
swimming 'in place' for a long time!
(he of course didn't understand he'd
attached himself to a float and wouldn't
drown!
Finally we were able to persuade her
to let us have an oar, and Vicky
made it out to unhook poor Jimmer,
and my fear was that he'd try to
get into the boat and capsize her
and she'd drown...
BUT, all worked out and we ended
up having a pretty good time at
the lake house with the kids!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY VICKY!!!
The other person near and dear
to my heart is our sweet little
granddaughter Lulu! This is
where I'd add a ton of her sweet
birthday pictures, if we hadn't
run off and left our camera at
home...:(
We were going to come home to
get it, but someone else,(Manus)
left to get theirs, and we 'STILL'
don't have any pictures yet.
She was a hoot, she blew out her
candle and was so proud of herself!
She loved all her presents, especially
her books about 'Elmo'and Brooklyn
loved Lulu's Princess shirt...Too
cute! Tenisha made a 'Cupcake'
Elmo cake, that was adorable and
regular cupcakes with Elmo too...I
guess you can tell by now Lulu has
a thing for Elmo! I'll post pics
whenever I get them...hint, hint!
HAPPY SECOND BIRTHDAY LULU!!!
