Show & Tell Friday!
Stop over at Cindy's to see her beautiful birdhouse over at
My Romanic Home. Please take a few minutes and stop by as many of the Show & Tell participants that you can, they've all got a lot of wonderful things to share with YOU!!!
I bought this finial several years ago, and just today decided
to dig it out of my 'things to do' items and paint it, I looove it,
a much better fit for my cottage decor, don't ya think?
The painted version of my finial! I thinned my white paint
down, painted over about 1/3 of the finial and rubbed it
out and repeated the steps, leaving it with a worn and aged
looking patina! I think those sweet little Paperwhites are
'welcoming' the new & improved finial!

It's a Wonderful Life
Last Saturday I was excited to go to a huge
antique & Collectible show at The Puyallup Fair
grounds! Lucky for me, my guy had agreed to take me
(he just loooves antique shows) Just kidding! :) I
think he actually enjoyed himself, but he would NEVA
EVA let on that it was so! Anyway~
We saw a lot of things we actually have and had
fun looking at what the dealers had them priced
at and we also saw a few things we(okay that I)wanted,
but I was good, and kept in mind, that I'm trying
to de-clutter and simplify my life...
I only bought a few items and a couple of them
were things I really needed.
We were getting to the end of our day when we saw
a fabulous display from 'It's a Wonderful Life'!
Jerry commented to the fellow behind the counter
on how they had cornered the market on just about
any memorabilia item from the movie and the gentleman
smiled and shared that the beautiful women beside him in
the booth, (busy talking with people) was actually the
little girl Zuzu from the movie!!!
I've always looved 'It's a Wonderful Life', so this was
a real treat to meet Karolyn Grimes (Zuzu Baily) in real life,
and listen to her talk about the movie I'd grown up with!
For a recap of the film, it came out in 1946 and was
directed by Frank Capra, starring Jimmy Stewart, Donna Reed,
and Lionel Barrymore to name a few! It was nominated for
5 Oscars that year! If you've somehow missed this wonderful
movie, please rent it or watch it next Christmas, it's such
a wonderful classic! Karolyn was very kind and let me take
a picture of her and was sweet enough to let me post it on
my blog! Thank YOU Karolyn, you're a classy lady!

Highlights of a Blessed Year!
My son & daughter-in-law's beautiful garden
wedding!
Truly a lovely Garden Wedding on a perfect Pacific Northwest day
for this beautiful family!!!
Yeah, I got a new car, (my first NEW car) not just any car,
but my dream car, my little 'White Prius' that I've named
'Pearl', don't you think that's a perfect name for someone
that makes jewelry??? I do! :)
I taught myself how to make jewelry by using beautiful
vintage jewelry, buttons & baubles I'd been collecting
for years, just waiting for a perfect time in my life to
create something with all my treasures and that time
has finally came! I love it! I even taught myself how
to solder, I'll share that with you later!
Goin' Green was never so beautiful! Reduce~Reuse~Recycle
I looove repurposing my vintage buttons with vintage
jewelry into my wearable art!
I adore vintage 'moon glow beads'!

Changes in the Wind~
I've had this blog for family & friends, I usually just
post pictures of what's going on in our lives that
I like to share, but I realized I may be the only one
seeing them??? Family & friends are too busy these days to
check a blog and a lot of people prefer just gabbing
on face book, so I've decided to have this space as my blogging
spot for whomever would like to check in... I'll still post
some of my family pics here, but mostly I'll have them on
drop shots for family!
Anyway~
I have a lot of changes going on in my home too, so I
think this will be a wonderful place to share ideas, some
how to's and of course a lot of cottage finds!
Please leave a message now and then so I know I have
readers, I would very much enjoy hearing from YOU!

Christmas Day with Family
There is nothing more magical than seeing Christmas through the
eyes of a child!
Lulu's just arrived and I caught this magical moment!
We were just sitting down for dinner, Uncle David is welcoming us to the table!
Uncle David reading 'Twas the Night Before Christmas' how wonderful!
Total concentration of a 13 year old with her 'Mostest Favoritist Gift'!
Seeing the magic of Christmas through the eyes of a 3 year old is
what it's all about!
